We did full gaps for 6 months and felt amazing! So we transitioned off… like idiots. 😂 all symptoms returned albeit more mild, but they really mean it when they say stay on for 2 years! I’m prepping now for a new start on May 1 but I’m much more prepared in all the ways and ready for the ride this time.
I think this happens to most of us who try GAPS! I barely lasted 6 weeks the first time I did it. But yes it's easier the second time because you know what to expect in terms of preparation!
My husband and I mostly eat meat and greens with onion and garlic, but we love fermented food, too. And we have eggs for breakfast. I don't think we eat all that different from this diet, but we don't have this much variety lol! I'm very curious to know what silverbeet and erbette are!! Never heard of those.
WE eat a lot of saurkraut now, but once we're traveling less I'll be getting into making other things. I used to do sourdough, yogurt, kefir, kombucha, sprouts, etc. I like it all
I traumatized my poor husband in 2013 when we jumped straight into the Intro Diet of GAPS. We were both so constipated, and starving! It took him months to a year to normalize again. And he was only going along with the diet in the first place for moral support 😅
I can so relate!! I feel like you have to do the GAPS diet wrong before doing it right. Now that I'm on Full GAPS it's much more sustainable and I've found a sweet spot with a good balance of foods daily that are keeping me satisfied and full (including lots of pumpkin and a delish coconut berry breakfast loaf which I honestly think I couldn't do without-- meat stock is the last thing I feel like for breakfast!). But it definitely takes some tweaking to get right. Did you find the diet beneficial in this end? did you transition to Full GAPS / how long did you stay on it?

That sounds pretty close to GAPS to me! Silverbeet I believe is Swiss Chard where you are. What are your go to ferments?
